This prestigious exhibition is the world’s oldest open show, showcasing exceptional art since 1769.
Being selected is a dream come true! The Royal Academy is renowned for recognising artistic excellence, so it’s incredibly validating. It means my work is seen alongside some of the best contemporary artists.
This exhibition is a chance to celebrate my heritage – both Romania, where I’m from, and Great Britain, my adopted home.
The traditional procession which, every year, takes the winning artists of the Summer Exhibition onto a walk from Burlington House to St James’s Church, Piccadilly, was pretty emotional for me and it will stay with me for a long time, a dear memory of my first ever participation in this highly-reputed competitive event.
Hope for many to come.
Then, please find my chosen work in Gallery 2, position no. 80. I ought to say there is another Romanian fellow exhibited in the same room (see the photo with the whiteish-grayish, square painting). His name is Adrian Dica and im happy he accompanied me during the event.
